John Lymer
John creates works where process is key to the practice and the final aesthetic.
He starts with a juxtaposition of various media, including drawn images, photography, found materials and treated surfaces .
Subsequent work to the base images may include block printing, painting, stencilled spraypaint, manual mark-marking, additional collage layers, and whatever else is deemed necessary to take the work on its natural development path.
The final work, and the levels of manipulation, development, and added (and/or removed) elements very much depends on what the process throws out: his is an instinctive and puzzle-solving practice, that evolves with each action”
